The easiest and quickest way to get there is by taking the ADO bus, which departs several times daily and takes around 2 hours. You can also rent a car, take a taxi or use the convenient Chepebus shuttle service.
If you’re traveling from Playa Del Carmen to Tulum by bus, there are three main companies that provide this service: ADO GL, ADO Platino, and Mayab. All of these buses have comfortable seats with air conditioning, and each has its own terminal in Playa Del Carmen.

The distance from Bacalar to Tulum is about 320 km (200 miles). The most direct route is to take Highway 186 South from Bacalar to Chetumal and then follow Highway 307 all the way to Tulum.
