If you like to learn a little history when traveling, you should visit the Leon Trotsky Museum in Coyoacan.
It’s the best way to learn about one of the most prominent political figures of the 20th century. You’ll find the museum in the former home of the Soviet revolutionary and Marxist thinker Leon Trotsky.

I’ll be honest, I rely on public transport a lot. It is a great way to immerse yourself in daily life in a new city!

Taking a bus from downtown is the most popular way of getting around Mexico City, as it’s a cheap and efficient method of transportation. The number 9 Bus will take you directly to Coyoacan from downtown. It typically takes around 45 minutes, depending on traffic.
Listen, traffic in Mexico City can be brutal, so leave early!
Once in Coyoacan, you can explore the area on foot or take a taxi to your desired destination.

Uber works great in Mexico City! I used it a few times and specifically used it when going from downtown Mexico City to Coyoacan!
The prices of Uber from Mexico City to Coayocan vary depending on your departure point, but my ride was around $15!
By metro
Coyoacan is easily accessible via the Line 3 of the metro, which stops at the stations Viveros, Copilco, and Universidad.
The good news is that the journey doesn’t take that long. From the city center, it only takes about 30 minutes to get to Coyoacan via the metro. That’s not bad considering you’re traveling from one side of the city to the other!

Don’t forget to visit the markets and shops that before finding an authentic Mexican restaurant for lunch.
After you have stuffed yourself with enchiladas walk it off by exploring the streets of this incredible city.
Save time to visit all the historic buildings, churches, and monuments in the area.
Maybe take a small rest in the park reading a book and relaxing.
